Trust

trus33.jpg

Trust is such a short, simple but powerful word. The world was built on this word. Once upon a time one’s word was trustworthy.

Years ago the commercial world was founded upon the notion of trust. Many a man in a dangerous situation put their life in the hands of their fellow man. Why? Because of the trust, respect and high esteem they held one another in.

However, nowadays that word has lost its potency and its direction. For whatever reason, we entrust ourselves and our lives to what we have no control over, and furthermore, we blindly hope for the best.

Why do we board a plane? Well, I suppose it is because we trust that all is in order with the aircraft, we trust that the pilot will do his job, and so on.
And our friends. We confide in them our deepest thoughts because we trust that they will not betray our confidence.

In our present day it is very apparent that the heavily narcotic dosage of materialist consumerism that we have been administered has altered our thought patterns, has distorted our perception. In this way, for instance, we trust in advertisement without realizing that our compulsion to trust such things is superficial, it is a fickle act that will soon vanish.

We are looking for confidence, love, comfort but we lack belief.

To soothe a broken heart, to settle an old quarrel, to make a stand for what is right, these acts could be better at helping us to rid ourselves of fomented ideas.

When we look at the full picture, we finally see that all we need is a heart full of light towards God, so that the word ‘trust’ can have its full meaning reinstated.
